Genpact is a global business process management and services and IT corporation with key offices in New York City, United States. It is listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol G.

We recently attended Genpact on-campus drive in our college. Around 300 students participated in the recruitment process for the position of Process Associates.

The recruitment process for Genpact lasted for two days. JAM session and aptitude test was held on first day while the telephonic interview was held on the second day.

This is how the selection process of Genpact went ahead:

They conducted the placement process in three steps:

1. JAM Session.
2. Aptitude Round.
3. Telephonic Interview.

1. JAM Session

First round was JAM session. In this round we were given a topic and had to speak for 10 minutes. This round went easy for almost 220 students.

They were testing the communication skills and confidence to speak in this round.

2. Aptitude Round

Aptitude test consisted of English, Analytical and Quantitative Aptitude.

The first section was English Ability. There were around 15 questions which consisted of two short passages, synonyms & antonyms, sentence completion and spot the error related to grammatical mistakes.

Questions in analytical ability were based on data interpretation and logical reasoning – puzzles (logical and clock puzzle were included) and blood relations.

Last section was quantitative aptitude consisting questions based on time & distance, geometry, algebra and averages.

3. Telephonic Interview

After qualifying the aptitude test, 100 candidates were selected for telephonic interview.

Some of the questions asked are:
  • Introduce yourself.

  • If you would ever get a chance to go on a holiday, which place would you prefer and why?
  • Name of the favorite book and some qualities of the respective author.
  • What does symbol G means in context of shares?
All together, the company selected 85 candidates for the post.

Here are a few tips to take sail through the process successfully:
  • Carry mandatory documents, like your last year's mark sheet, passport size photograph, resume and college ID.
  • There is no negative marking for wrong answer, but do not consume too much time on one question.
  • Read about Genpact.
  • Geometry is not asked in most of the companies but Genpact has some questions on it. So, prepare this topic as well.
  • Puzzles are employer's favourite recruitment tool these days. Prepare them well. For Genpact, focus on logical and clock type of puzzles.
