What has been the picture as far as Indian firms going global?


With the inception of globalisation and liberalisation of the Indian Economy since 1991, India had to face its tough global competitors. As a result of this, organisations whether large or small scale ones began to study and know more about the international marketing environment and formulating the necessary strategies to adapt to it. Even domestic firms have increasingly reformulated their policies and strategies so as to suit the global needs. Indian firms have identified the prospects that foreign markets could bring to their products. Besides, once the domestic market gets saturated, these firms need to explore and move to other markets beyond the national borders. Eg. Maruti Udyog Ltd., which is India's leading car manufacturer exports its cars to other nations.
