Explain the purpose of tuning oracle database.

In simple words to improve the performance of our database we need to tune it. Following are the purpose of tuning database:

  • Will improve performance and ease administration by properly distributing database objects.
  • Tuning focuses on identifying and fixing the underlying flaws that result in unacceptable performance.
  • The goal of tuning is to make sure that the physical limitations of the applications and the associated hardware i: e I/O throughput rates, memory sizes, query performance, and so on do not impact the business performance.
